Hour Variance Report
Tech Stacks: SQL, C#, APIs, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
Problem: Previously, production managers lacked an efficient way to compare standard labor, setup, and machining hours against actual confirmed hours in the system. This made it difficult to identify variances, track inefficiencies, and validate whether time standards were being met. Without clear visibility into historical performance or operation-level detail, opportunities for improvement were often missed.
Solution: To address this, we built a Production WO Hour Variance dashboard that consolidates all completed work order operations by order number and completion date. The system calculates variances between standard and confirmed hours, highlights discrepancies, and flags records for review. Hover popups provide quick access to historical averages for the same material number and detailed breakdowns of the current operation. This gives managers real-time insights into labor performance, enabling faster root cause analysis, better accountability, and continuous improvement in production efficiency.

This dashboard provides a consolidated view of standard versus confirmed work order hours, highlighting variances in red/green, with filters and review flags to help managers quickly identify discrepancies and track performance.
1. Hour Variance Report Dashboard

This modal view drills into a single work order operation, showing setup, machine, and labor hours with calculated variances, giving supervisors detailed insight into where inefficiencies occur.
2. Operation Breakdown Modal

This enhanced view provides operation-level variance data alongside historical averages from the last five confirmations of the same material, enabling contextual benchmarking and quicker root cause analysis.
